Refugees come from all areas of life, all professions, all backgrounds. Refugees are created by torture and war. From our healing centers in St. Paul and Atlanta, to our locations in Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya and Uganda, CVT has learned about the jobs, neighborhoods, families and friendships refugees have been forced to abandon, and we’ve helped them with the lives they are rebuilding.
Imad was a lawyer in Syria. He was tortured. Now he’s a refugee, taking on the healing journey with CVT. According to CVT’s research, nearly half of all refugees who seek shelter in the U.S. have survived torture. The refugee crisis is a torture crisis.
